How to measure correctly.

Bust measurement photo guide

Measurement 01 — Bust 胸围

01

Bust (胸围)

Measure at the fullest point

Your bust measurement determines whether tops, dresses, and outerwear will fit through the chest and shoulders. This is the most critical measurement for MOLE pieces.

  • 1Stand straight with arms relaxed at your sides.
  • 2Wrap the measuring tape around your body at the fullest part of your bust — usually across the nipple line.
  • 3Keep the tape parallel to the floor. Do not pull tight — it should lie snug but comfortable.
  • 4Take the measurement while breathing normally (not holding your breath).
MOLE Tip: If your measurement falls between sizes, size up for tops and dresses to ensure the bust fits comfortably.

Measurement 02 — Waist 腰围

02

Waist (腰围)

At the natural narrowest point

The natural waist sits above the hip bone and below the rib cage — the narrowest part of your torso. This is the correct point for all MOLE waist measurements, not the waistband of your jeans.

  • 1Find your natural waist by bending slightly to the side — the crease that forms is your natural waistline.
  • 2Wrap the tape around the narrowest part of your torso at this point.
  • 3Keep the tape snug but not tight. You should be able to fit two fingers underneath.
  • 4Stand naturally, do not suck in your stomach.
MOLE Tip: For high-waist trousers and skirts, use this measurement. For mid-waist styles, take an additional reading 2–3 cm below the natural waist.

Measurement 03 — High Waist 高腰

03

High Waist (高腰)

Above the natural waist, below the ribs

MOLE's high-waist pieces sit approximately 3–4 cm above your natural waist, closer to the bottom of your rib cage. This creates the elongated silhouette that defines our signature aesthetic.

  • 1First, locate your natural waist (see above).
  • 2Move the tape upward approximately 3–4 cm toward your rib cage.
  • 3Measure at this higher point.
  • 4Note: if between sizes on high-waist styles, size up for comfort around the rib area.
MOLE Tip: High-waist pieces create a longer, leaner leg line — the defining silhouette of the Quiet Luxury aesthetic.

Measurement 04 — Hips 臀围

04

Hips (臀围)

At the widest part of your hips

The hip measurement is critical for all MOLE bottoms — trousers, skirts, and dresses. It determines whether the garment can be pulled over the hips and how it sits on the body.

  • 1Stand with feet together, weight evenly distributed.
  • 2Find the fullest part of your hips — this is usually 18–23 cm below your natural waist.
  • 3Wrap the tape around the fullest point of your hips and buttocks.
  • 4Keep the tape parallel to the floor on all sides.
MOLE Tip: If your hip measurement puts you in a different size than your waist, use the larger size and adjust at the waist with a belt if needed.
Shoulder measurement photo guide

Measurement 05 — Shoulder 肩宽

05

Shoulder (肩宽)

Across the back, point to point

Shoulder width determines how well structured tops, blazers, and outerwear will fit. MOLE provides this measurement for all tops and outerwear to help you identify the ideal fit.

  • 1Stand straight and relax your shoulders — do not hunch or square them artificially.
  • 2Have a friend place the tape at the outer edge of one shoulder (where the shoulder seam would sit).
  • 3Measure across the back to the outer edge of the opposite shoulder.
  • 4This is a back measurement — measure across the back, not across the chest.
MOLE Tip: For MOLE structured pieces, the shoulder seam should end right at the edge of your natural shoulder — not drooping down the upper arm.

Measurement 06 — Top Length 衣长

06

Top / Dress Length (衣长)

Measured on the garment itself

MOLE measures garment length from the highest point of the shoulder seam (at the collar) down to the hem. Each product page lists this measurement individually since it varies by style.

  • 1To measure yourself: stand straight and measure from the top of your shoulder (where a seam would sit) down to where you want the garment to end.
  • 2For dresses: decide where you want the hem — above knee, at knee, midi, or maxi — and note that length.
  • 3Compare this to the garment length listed on the product page.
  • 4If you are petite (below 158 cm), garment length is especially important to check before ordering.
MOLE Tip: We list the exact garment length in centimetres on every product page — always double-check this against your own body length for dresses and long tops.
Trouser inseam and outseam photo guide

Measurement 07 — Trouser Length 裤长

07

Trouser Length (裤长)

Inseam + outseam both matter

MOLE lists trouser length as the total outseam measurement (waistband to hem). The inseam is the inner leg measurement that determines how the hem will fall on your body.

  • 1Inseam: Measure from the inner leg seam at the crotch down to your desired hem — ankle, floor, or wherever you want the trouser to end.
  • 2Outseam: Measure from the waistband down to the same hem point, along the outer leg seam.
  • 3For wide-leg and palazzo styles, check both measurements — the wider the leg, the more the length matters for the right silhouette.
  • 4MOLE wide-leg trousers are designed to graze the floor — if you are petite, factor in heel height or consider hemming.
MOLE Tip: Wide-leg trousers look best when the hem just grazes the top of the foot. Add 2–3 cm if you plan to wear heels regularly.
Skirt length photo guide

Measurement 08 — Skirt Length 裙长

08

Skirt Length (裙长)

From waistband to hem

MOLE measures skirt length from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the hem. Understanding the different length categories will help you choose the right silhouette for your style and occasion.

  • 1Measure from your natural waist (or where the waistband sits) straight down to your desired hem.
  • 2Mini: 35–45 cm (above mid-thigh)
  • 3Knee / Midi: 55–75 cm (at or below the knee)
  • 4Maxi: 90 cm+ (ankle to floor)
MOLE Tip: Our pleated and A-line skirts are designed at midi length for maximum versatility — from coffee meetings to evening dinners.
